Clinical Supervision & Mentoring
Supervision, at its essence, is a conversation about developing knowledge, awareness, and skill. It’s where theory meets lived experience; and where the counselor learns to trust both intellect and test clinical intuition. As a Clinical Supervisor, I integrate the rigor of a clinical education with the wisdom of a mentor-philosopher, fostering an environment for developing clinicians to flourish with both confidence and integrity.
Mentors and coaches have significantly influenced my development as a clinician, leader, and intellectual. Their effect shown that supervision transcends ordinary evaluation; it is fundamentally transformative. It prompts us to scrutinize not merely our actions, but also our evolving identities throughout the process. I endeavor to provide the same combination of rigor and contemplation to my subordinates.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board-Approved Supervisor in Virginia, my supervisory approach incorporates evidence-based practices, trauma-informed principles, and multicultural perspectives. Every meeting serves as a deliberate environment to enhance case conceptualization, clinical recording, and ethical judgment, while simultaneously fostering the personal insight that enables counselors to engage authentically in the therapeutic process.
Anticipate our collaboration to be candid, demanding, and focused on development. My work is to assist you in enhancing your clinical voice, augmenting your reflective capacity, strengthening your clinical decision making, and aligning client engagement with your values. Supervision in this context transcends mere license preparation; it fosters the development of a professional identity rooted in clarity, boldness, and compassion.
